Year of Establishment
Initially started at Garimellapadu in the year 1986. Later shifted to Mandalapally and then finally established at Aswaraopet in the year 1988.
Brief History
With the aim of laying down foundation for systematic development of Horticulture in the Tribal Areas of Khammam District, this Station was established on the land earmarked by the ITDA and District Collector. Initially, the infrastructural facilities were provided by ITDA Paloncha. This Research Station was started during February, 1988.
Location of the Farm
Thefarm is located 4 km away from Aswaraopet village on Aswaraopet to Khammam state highway which is situated at an altitude of 167 MSL 170 14 ‘ N latitude and 81.8 o E longitude.which 80 km away from the districts head quarter(BhadradriKothagudem), the nearest railway station is Kothagudem (80 Km) and Rajahmundry (90 km)
Soils
The soils are well drained, deep and sandy loam in texture and granular to sub angular blocky in structure with a PH 6.7 and EC about 0.01 mmohs/cm which is ideally suitable for growing a variety of Horticultural crops.

a) Gross Area : 70 acres
b) Area Under cultivation : 55 acres
c) Area under Road & Buildings : 10 acres
d) Area under shrub jungle : 05 acres
