Brief History
The Horticultural Research Station, Konda Mallepally, was established in the year 1991 in an area of 117 acres, with an objective of conducting experiments on arid fruit crops like Ber, Amla, Custard Apple, Wood apple, along with other forestry crops like Subabul and Neem to know their feasibility and adoptability in raising under this rainfed area. In due of course of time, with the availability of irrigation source from Nagarjuna Sagar dam, farmers of Nalgonda dist. started raising of commercial crops like Sweet orange and Acid lime. There after Horticultural Research Station, Konda Mallepally also started conducting experiments and studying their feasibility, screening pest and diseases incidence along with their management practices.
